Short bio
Originally from the Fiji Islands, I completed my BSc and MSc in Marine Science at the University of the South Pacific. My primary interest lies in sea turtle ecology and conservation. I developed this interest when I began working with sea turtles on some of the most remote islands of Fiji. My Master’s research solidified my passion and propelled me on a journey of continuous research at sea turtle nesting and feeding areas in Fiji.
For my PhD, I intend to undertake toxicology studies to address the knowledge gaps within the sea turtle population of the South Pacific. When I am not working on my PhD research, I manage my Fiji-based consultancy, Ika Bula Consultants, which supports ocean-related projects.
Position
PhD candidate
Project Title
Understanding natural and anthropogenic threats to sea turtle population in the South Pacific region.
